What Can I Do To Clear Up My Acne?

I’m almost 16, and I have the worst acne. I’ve been trying to do everything I can, but it doesn’t seem to be working. I’ve been taking a vitamin every day called “Active Teen Health” which is supposed to help. I drink at least 3 water bottles daily, and I’ve been trying to eat healthier. I wash my face with Biore and use Biore’s toner, then I moisturize with Clean & Clear and use their persa-gel. I wash and moisturize my face every morning and night. I clean my sheets often and use clean towels. What else can I do? I’m getting desperate.. lol

  1. You need to figure out what your skin’s issue is. I always thought I had oily skin, because I had a lot of oil on my skin. It turned out that I have dry skin, so my glands would overproduce oil to try to make up for the dryness. My skin is “stressed,” so soothing or calming masks help (like sea minerals or oatmeal). I’ve been using Cetaphil for years at the recommendation of my dermatologist. When I start to break out, I use a retinol cream (comes from the dermatologist), and that helps to keep breakouts from happening, and it helps to make the redness & irritation go away a lot faster.
Once you find a cleanser that you like, try to stick with it – it can stress your skin out if you switch products.
Make sure all the products you put on your skin say “non-comedogenic.” this means it won’t clog pores. If you use makeup, do not use a primer – primers can clog your pores, leading to more breakouts.
If you have insurance, try to go to a dermatologist, as they have access to a lot more options than we do over the counter. Steer clear of Accutane – it’s a drug I was on 8 years ago, and I’m still feeling the side effects (Accutane is one of the ones you see on TV with the lawyers telling you to sue).

  2. proactive, clearasil, dove, ivory any of those just didnt seem to work.. my boyfriend had horrible acne & he struggled forever to keep it under control he tried everything, prescriptions, over the counter & ads on tv. one day we went to dollar general to pick up something & came accross “clear zit” and it works the best cause it has the highest salic acid in it which dries your face out due to it being oily/acne prone. & use a toner daily that also helps, blotting pads or dabbing alcohol on your face worked for him!! i know how uncomfortable it was for him hope you get it figured out :)

  3. Well, usually when you get older, it will naturally heal. Well in some cases, some people still have acne for the rest of their lives, but my sister had really bad acne, then when she went to uni, her face started healing and she has such good skin today!
I think if you think you’ve tried everything, I suggest going to the dermatologist instead. She/he may lead you on a course for a few months, usually your acne heals. They may prescribe you creams, pills etc. Pills can have side effects though, but then it’s really worth it.
Go to your local dermatologist! You really won’t be sorry.

  4. I don’t believe all those popular cleansers really help clear acne. I’ve been using neutrogena for 4 yrs and it did no good to me. Then my mother told me that OATMEAL was the answer to my acne covered face! Yeah, i never thought my own breakfast was the key to my acne!
So what you do is fill a little bit of warm water on a little cup about a quarter full then there has to be a little bit more oatmeal then waster on the cup and wait for it to cool. If you want you can put honey on the cup b/c honey also helps clear skin and gives it that natural glow:)
    u r welcome:D

  5. Niacinamide face cleansing pads are effective and simple way to keep acne away. Just place a pad on the pimple and watch it fade away. Lavender Oil helps prevent skin drying.
Niacinamide pads are also known as Nicotinamide pads or Vit B3 pads.
Give them a try and you will be pleasantly surprised

  6. Wash your face daily and when you get a chance swab with a cottonball with benzol peroxide. It help with the oil on your skin. Good luck :)

  7. Always wash your face. Use gentle soap like Dove. I mean always…in the mornings, after you sweat, and especially at night.
